Last weekend I took some time to take a few amateur photos of a herdbull prospect I have been developing at my place this winter.

He is sired HC Timeline 17T and out of a Saskvalley Pioneer 3 year old dam.

This is Shady lane Rockstar 9X  <rock>

Stats are as follows,

Roan Polled Bull Calf,

Born March 26, 2010

82# birthweight, unassisted

725# adjusted weaning weight, no creep feed, sunshine and mama's milk only!

approx 1,200# yearling weight

36.3 cm scrotal circumference at 12 mos.

I'm really pleased with the way this young bull has developed, his capacity, rib shape, performance and overall phenotype continue to impress me more every day.

He looks very good great to see that Timeline is consistently bringing out some awesome animals! Are you planning on showing him this year?

Yes Jaimie Rockstar will be on the show road this fall.

Peachy, we had a freaky late spring storm blow in the left us with 8" or more of the heavy, wet white stuff the night before we shot the photo.

This has been the longest winter I remember!

Real cool-and enough distance from Salute for everyone.EG-those with alot of Solution-Mattis,Rose ET-Al already in the female-those breeding for BW etc.It isnt just the bull-YATTA YATTA. I PMd you about semen-and where to market it-this ones a good candidate-getting semen down here for a small or otherwise breeder-is almost certainly a variety of bulls coming in one shipment,to alleviate multiple shipping and physical handling charges.-I got Touchdown for better or worse, because hes that GOOD-but it reminded me a little of a trip to the dentist.Wouldnt have done it for one of the 5-10 3/4 brothers down here that escaped syndication.(lol) O0

thanks for the compliments, definitely very excited about this young bull.

I've included a picture of his sire HC Timeline 17T as well as a full sister to Rockstar 9X from the previous calf crop, Shady lane melba Niam 8W.

Justin, actually I have a red neck roan full sister on the ground now that I honestly think may be better than 8W? (8W was that cows first calf as a 2 year old)

She is coloured about the same as Rockstar.

Rockstar's dam was the very first calf born from Saskvalley Pioneer 126P and she was solid red and weighed 80 lbs at birth, She was a natural calf out of one of our donors HC Melba Niam 98H. 98H was a very good producer and a great donor. Embryos from her have sold to 5 countries. An ET daughter of 98H sired by coyote's Ultimate 130K herd sire was the dam of the high selling bull in Sprys sale, in Australia, last year at $22,000.

A very nice bull and his full sister is a knockout.  (thumbsup) Nearly enough to make me join the all embracing shorthorn breed of happiness and harmony.  (lol)

Haha, Aussie, maybe you should use Rockstar on some of those black females "Down Under".

Then you'd be sure to be included in the Steer Planet Shorthorn Group Hug!

;)
