Here is a picture of the sire of Rockstar that was taken today, May 15/11 on pasture. He is HC Timeline 17T ET. Timeline has been bashed and trashed here on SP a fair bit since he sold in our first Sun Country sale . He has proven to NOT be the cow killer many predicted he would be and his calves have moderate BWs and the same great performance he has 3 sons were the top performing bulls over all breeds at the Lakeland College bull test a couple years ago. His son, Rockstar is one of the best young bulls I have seen in the last several months. Timeline has continued to develop into an impressive herd sire. I have been a believer in this bull since the morning he was born....and I still am. I know he would be more accepted if he wasn't a Salute son, but he is what he is, and he is proving to be a very prepotent sire.  He looked amazing at birth and he has continued to impress me through all stages of his life. He is also homozygous polled ... an added bonus!

This is a paternal brother to Shady Lane's Rockstar bull as he is another Timeline son. This bull is HC Wartime 15W and he sold for $4850 to a commercial rancher in our 2010 bull sale.

One thing that has impressed me, is that Timeline is not increasing frame in his offspring as much as I thought he might. When used on a moderate framed female, his calves will have a bit more frame but not an excessive amount. He changes the muscle pattern more than anything.

Was the 8W heifer on the showroad this past year? How'd she do?

No she wasn't SRC, I don't believe the people that bought her showed any cattle last fall unfortunately.

I did hear that she had a dark roan TM Gus heifer calf though.

I just thought I would mention that I stopped in and saw Rockstar's full sister born this spring, and she is a knock out!!She is so good she knows she is good!  Also, I would like to mention that after a few months of negotiations, I have finally been able to buy a 1/2 interest in Rockstar. When I saw him last fall, I felt he was the best bull calf I had seen in 2010, and I am even more pleased as I have watched him develop. I'm about as excited to now own a piece of this bull as any animal I have ever been involved with.

Just to add an update to Rockstars progress,

Rockstar was named Grand Champion Bull at the 2011 Canadian Western Agribition and has developed into a very impressive two year old.

Rockstar and his full sister Shady Lane Melba Niam 3Y were also named Champion progeny of dam.

He just got back from collection at Alta Genetics, Balzac ALberta where he proved to be an outstanding semen producer. I've attached a picture of him at the end of his stay at stud.

He's also been verified TH/PHA Free as well as Homozygous Polled!

Rockstar will be seeing heavy natural service here this spring on a select group of females here in 2012.

I've posted a semen ad in the classifieds as well.

Haha.

Thanks Ranke, the sisters arecertainly awesome.  (thumbsup)

We're pretty confident that Rockstar is going to leave daughters just like them, which is what makes him so appealing.

He is a fantastic bull from a very maternal line of cattle.
