We just had this discussion at the barn and I told the offending party I would put it out to the professionals on the interweb...

WHO HAS TO OPEN THE GATE...THE PASSENGER OR THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK?

and as a side note I will add that the passenger thought that eating a brownie was enough of an excuse to get out of opening the gate...so wrong...so, so wrong... <cowboy>

I thought a non-political, fun thread was in order...

Passenger unless its my grandpa, I wouldn't let him get out of the AC.

Rule 1 - Picture of offending party and or the type of brownie

Would have to agree passenger opens gate, barring any circumstances that make the passenger is physical unable.

I totally agree about Grandpa...he has been exempt from opening gates since the late 80's..lol

and type of brownie?  HOMEMADE for the offending party, BY THE DRIVER!!  Never has one person been so wrong [the passenger]

I've showed cattle to visitors in the pasture and I have no problem either way ,but a quite a few times over the years I have opened the gate and driving ....Seems to be a more EASTERN thing ,but when they come that far  and maybe their worried about liability
if gate happened to be open later .....

So you made brownies, and drove, and your passenger wouldn't open the gate for you? Has to be your older brother.

Who's the real cowboy?

He's the one in the middle, because he doesn't have to drive or open the gate.

Passenger opens the gate.

From time to time the hubs will ask if I want to go to town with him.  It's usually because he wants me to drive.  I quit falling for that one. (argue)

Depends

If its my farm and my gate....I open it..............BUT.........
If its family and they are simply enjoying the brownie as a distraction to opening the gate then they should open gate. If they saved me a piece of said brownie and brought me a cup of bold coffee from starbucks then I would HAPPILY open the gate.

Passenger unless it is a guest. The Midwestern guests always offer to open the gate and the "non-midwestern" guests never offer. Hahaha. No offense to anybody
