Just wonder if any shorthorn breeders are aiming at this? Probably would be frame 3-4.  I need another white or roan some day to breed blue grays from black Galloway cows- just thought there might be some readers of this forum who rarely post, but breed smaller, grassy shorthorns. Pm me if you like. Not buying this year- just scouting.

The last time I talked to Dennis Hoffrogge he had a young white bull he was pretty proud of. I'd see who he bred that calf's mother back to as her pictures look like she could definitely produce what you're looking for.

I'll ask him or go take a look...I'm not far away from him now. I really only need a commercial bull of the right type and history.  Even "mostly Shorthorn" would suffice- like you say, the dam is key. Haven't asked beebe yet...he's on the same track. I just know there's some small herds out there in the bushes with good stuff if I could find them. Here's a bred heifer I have of that cross. Grass developed.

I don't have any now but I have a white daughter of KC Clipper Duke. I am going to breed her to Max, then flush her to Cherry Fillet and Maverick.  Three red maternal half brothers to her ought to make what you are looking for.

I haven't used Max, but I had a Maverick x Cherry Fillet bull calf born this spring that looks the part. He's solid red though, which was my intentions. I'm hoping he grows out well enough to be kept to cover heifers for a few years.

4 frame 1800-2000lb bulls: These are the type I’m breeding, though they’re likely a bit different composition than the type you’re referring to.  A little more “ohlde” a little less scotch top.

Lot 6 BW -3.3 FS :4.4 With mature bulls    Lot 47 BW 82 FS: 4.5    Lot 51 BW .05 FS: 5.0 there are a number of 5 and change FS bulls in this sale as well  A majority of the roans will stand a chance of throwing a blue grey There are a also  number of them that have BWs in the 80s which JMO is quite acceptable on your kind of cattle-I'm basing this on MY MAN-MOTO MOTO whos gotta be one of the top Galloways going. The native etc cattle I"ve gotten to see in pics etc lately seem to be at least as big as these frame wise maybe not quite as stout A friend in Iowa has been using a blue roan low line whos calves grow to be about as big as everything else and bigger than the real moderate clubby cattle.-and he will be for sale  It is also my astute observation that "several" could mean 3 units or bulls in the sale.
