Looking for some thoughts-

shorthorn bulls that meet the following:
Trace to such as Steermaker, Double Stuff (D Vision), Eskimo Joe, Double Dandy, Windstar, Warhorse, Gizmo, etc... you know the older, clubbier type Shorthorn genetics...

Would like to see what kind of clean options are available...  PHA preferred clean, TH also needed.. But open to suggestions of carrier bulls- as maybe I could find a clean son.

NO Trump allowed in the pedigree- regardless of how far back.

Thanks for the thoughts... I really like getting some of the answers I expect...

Why not just make the next war horse and use him.

Or use war paint or nothing free?  Nothing free might not have enough rear end for u though.

with the list of bulls you give you will not have many options for clean sons being most of your list is dirty and some even double dirty why not just use steermaker himself semen is still available

war paint, and nothings free wound like MCF bulls....  Nothings free, has an interesting pedigree... Got any contact info for the owners/ distributors?  War Paint's low % doesn't bother me, I don't plan to paper any of the calves anyways.

I've thought about that..searched and searched.. and haven't found anything, but single carrier bulls...  Thinking someone on here will come up with something...

I like the AT Rock n Roll Train bull, but don't like the double shot of Trump that comes along...

I'm planning on giving up JBS a call for a visit next time I visit that area-- which will be whenever I'm not sure...

My bad on the edits.

The best thing about your bull is you raised him.  If u are going to keep him, retain ownership on his calves and see what they do on the inside as a benchmark for further improvement.

OK, I'll play.  You could use the Leader bull in my avatar.  His dam was a daughter of Gizmo and he is totally clean with no Trump anywhere.  Also he's proven calving ease, calves are marketable (the first heifer in Canada sold for $3000), and if you want to show them they are stylish enough- even though he's not bred to be a show bull.

Anything else?

I thought you lost that bull...  Can't have much semen on him in storage since he wasn't very old...  Interesting pedigree, most def different...  Who's semen come from you?

Yes, we lost Hillside Leader at the end of his first breeding season here,. His first calf crop here was impressive to say the least. All from heifers, only assisted birth weas a calf with a leg back. His calves had excellent performance and our heaviest bull calf at weaning form our heifers was 690 lbs ( no creep). We collected Leader at Hawkeye and at Genex in Alabama so we have a good supply of semen and we have semen in Canada, USA and Australia. Waukaru just purchased an in herd interest in him and we are pleased to have a great performance operation as this involved in him.

You said "color" and thick  so here is my gizmo suggestion:

AI sjcc american muscle... he is roan, stacked up pedigree- so you should see some consistancy. He ultrasounded with alot of rea/cwt. Low to the ground but thick on both ends.

Also check with SBR, Java South Dakota- he had alot of color this fall . That's if you wanted a walking bull. His pt sale is sometime in Feb?  I could dig for that note pad ?

For just a handful of cows to tinker with.... I don't think a walking bull is required...  I think the hand and gun- should be able to cover it quite well-- although... I'd like to see the offering...
