Hes very smooth made-especially for an older bull-which makes me want to see him from behind-he almost has a dual look to him not a lot of muscle, very pretty:meaning not very wide made-thats why Id want to get behind him.-hows he Bred? O0

Appears deep ribbed, smooth made through the front two-thirds.  From this angle, it looks like he might be a little patchy around the tail head and needs a little more rear quarter.  Looks like he should stay in pretty good shape running the pasture.

Here is another picture.  He is straight Dual,  Native and double registered with Milking Shorthorn and Shorthorn associations.  You can look him up on the Shorthorn website and see his pedigree.  He was  bred by Jack Barnes,  Fallon,  Nevada.

He reminds me of the dual purpose bulls I used to see in the 70s. He is a very useful bull and I would expect he would sire some very good momma cows. You could pick some holes in him and say he could have  better muscling, but quite honestly, he has adequate muscling and his main purpose is not just to sire heavily muscled calves. There is a definite place for bulls like this in the industry.

I really like the bull. Do you have progeny photos that you could post too?

Looks good...a lot of emeraldale and frosty acres in his pedigree.  He looks moderate, compact, and has a wide muzzle and small ears like old school shorthorns had.  He probably doesn't have a big enough ass for most people on this site.  However, I bet he can through low birth weight calves and sire daughters that can milk like crazy.

Yes,  I do have pictures of progeny but it may take a few days to round them up.  For someone my age,  the peace of mind that this guy brings to calving season is a real plus.  I have never pulled a calf and never had a calf born dead.  Of course we have a small herd,  but I just don't worry about his calves and they always get up and nurse quickly.

Looks entirely different in the second picture.  Rump structure looks much more appealing to me in the latest photo.  I assume from the grass that the photos were taken at two different times of year.  There were some very good dual purpose bulls in the 70's.  He'd have fit right in with them.  Too many people still think they were all built like Chis.  (the old ones, not what is called a Chi today).

Here is his oldest daughter,  picture taken last fall.    The two pictures of the bull were taken within two weeks of each other,  just a different pasture for the second one.
