329 ran here for a few years. You won't pull a calf. His females are keepers. Not the showiest look but who cares. He was dog tame here. I calves several heifers to him with no problems. if I had my choice between the two Id use 329 everytime. I kick myself in the ass weekly for selling him.

I will second this. Including I will kick trevorgrey in the butt weekly for selling him and kick myself for not buying him. Not only is he calving ease but his calves grow well and are thick when they get going. We will continue to use him as we have a few straws left. Our bull A&T Renegade 124 is another commercial oriented bull that I can recommend. We are calving out his first bred heifers this spring.

I was playing around with some pedigrees last night and trying to figured some matings out and I Realized I had forgotten that the Scotty cow pictured in the beginning of the thread is out of a linebred Mel-bar Rodeo Drive 347 cow.

At least on paper, it's hard to beat Goldmine's spread

CE 13.8 and YW 82

over 350 progeny and .8 or higher accuracy in the measurable traits ce,bw,ww,yy

I was talking with a well respected cattleman about a year ago that told me that he believe Mel-bar Rodeo Drive 347 was by far the best son of Rodeo Drive. He was more moderated and birthweights weren't out of control if I remember correctly.

Our experience was Mel-bar Rodeo Drive 347 was pretty much calving ease, with tremendous growth.  I think he had/has  a lot to offer as a terminal sire.

Xbar my comment about Mel-bar Rodeo Drive 347 being a more terminal type bull had to do with the performance of daughters, than frame size.
