What do you think of this April 8th Shorthorn Plus heifer? She is out of an After Hours daughter I have posted on here a few times. She either sired by Waukaru Gold Card or Waukaru Power Play (will have to get dna test done). Both of those bulls were part of Waukaru's Reserve Champion Pen at Denver a few years ago and are now our herd sires. Let me know what you think of her! O ya, she hasn't been creeped and will be weaned in 3 weeks.

To much leg under her for me and not enough gut. She's not bad but if I was breeding her I would make sure she got a bull with a big foot , and is moderate. Don't blast me folks it's jmo. I like her color. If you can find it and afford it I would use gizmo on her.

Mark: If she is anything like her maternal sister from last year she will drop down guts wise.
Jody: Yes that is the sire of the dam. Saw his picture that other day, that was was the first time I had seen him.
Trevorgreycattleco: Thanks for the opinion, I like that your honest. I agree see needs some more gut, im hoping it comes with time.

She will be for sale in the fall through Breedersworld

Here is a calf/late fall picture of her maternal sister from last year. I am hoping her gut followers after her!

pretty standard regardless of the shorthorn pedigree-- you can count on them being pretty shallow until after a year old-- and pretty danged late maturing.

Can you explain this comment? I'm not sure I follow what you are saying.

Far more shorthorn heifers calves will be late maturing, and shallow bodied as calves-- that goes hand in hand.  I'd bet much greater than 50%.  And then they'll body down as bred yearlings-- whether that is due to maturity growth pattern, feed, age, or being preg.  not sure.

i'd say id like to see her just a tad straighter across the top. and like everyone said a bit more guts, but that should come with age. but other than that i like her. i wouldn't mind her in my herd.

REally like the black/blue heifer. You might deworm the rwm heifer, she looks like she needs some bloom. good luck

Seems just like an honest opinion to me.  May be your cup of tea, or may not.

I like the muscling.  I would think she could produce some bulls with growth.  If I was looking to make cows, I agree with TG-  would like to see a little more gut.
