Hey guys, I posted this guy in the classifieds and wanted to get some opinions on him. A gentleman that I have a lot of respect for in this business told me to keep him a bull, so thats what we have done. He is a late August/early September calf out of Fringe. Any and all opinions welcome, I would like to know what you don't like about him, or if there are parts that you do, which ones stand out?

Good head. Id like to see his front match the back. He either has a really big ass or a small front, but still a good critter. He sure looks like there is enough hair there to work with :) He could make some cool calves out of clubby cows IMO.

Maybe its just the pictures. I like to see bulls be equal in width from front to back. His front end looks smaller than the rear in the pics. Thats why I said he must really have a big badonka donk. Maybe its just me but I like to see a bull be equal front to back when standing behind or in front of and equal front to back when I look from the side. I want as much muscle everywhere as I can get and still be sound. I think your calf is a good one and will make a herd bull. Im not trying to rip him at all just a observation. <beer>

That calf has a lot of good things, length, muscle and bone. From the photos he looks a bit tight in the heart girth which may be what TGCC is referring to. I think the angle of the photos might be making that show up more. What is his pedigree?

Thank you for clarifying! I sure don't take it as you ripping on him, I wanted opinions and am happy you gave yours!

He is out of Fringe on top, his dam reg # is 4131081. She is out of a bull named TW Image, who goes back to stinger. On bottom she goes back to double stuff and Ka'Ba Cowboy in a couple generations.

Last year his dam had a bull calf out of Get Serious, who is somewhat closely related to Fringe. I'll add a picture of him on here too, he was kept a bull and was champion shorthorn bull at Tulsa last fall, he was later sold to Mississippi as a herd sire.
