Here is a pic of a shorthorn plus heifer we sold earlier this year. She is at the Lima show in the pic. We are super happy with how the family is working with her. If only I could teach them to fit, maybe my knees would'nt hurt so bad today (lol)

Thanks. She showed aganst some tough heifers. "Aprils" weighing 900 lbs ??? Maybe next time we will show her crossbred so that we can show in hip height.  She should be her best around Expo. They should not have any trouble piling the weight on her, as their feed program is pretty intense for only being their 2nd year showing. They are really on top of their hair care too. I have caautioned them not to get her too fat, as she will be an easy one to get way too chubby. I am more concerned with them getting a calf out of her, but they are still going to feed her to compete. If they can find that middle ground between conditioned and fat they will do just fine with her.

very nice heifer. Saw her in person. She should do well for them. Just keep having them do what they are doing.

I really like her. Great front end, good rib, nice bone. The only thing that caught my eye from the profile shot is that she could use a bit more lower quarter/stifle. Probably partially due to the angle though.

Thanks for all of the kind comments, we are really excited with how she is turning out. She was born 3 hours too soon to be a May baby. She was born the last day of April and that's what her papers say, makes it kind of tough, but as OH-B said in the Lima post, - they should all be about the same size come Expo time. (clapping)

OH YEAH, she is out of our herd bull, a purebred Shorthorn going back to Trump and Augusta Pride 3127- and her momma is a Teddy Bear first calf heifer.I am waiting to see how some more of the bull's calves look and am thinking about collecting him before he leaves our place. Not necessarily to sell semen but to use it ourselves, although I would never turn down an interested buyer ;)

We have a 1/2 sister to this heifer we would really like to work with someone on. She is a little greener, but will make an awesome cow. She is out of the same bull, and an angus cow with traveler and new trend in her pedigree. We need to find her a new home for the holidays ;) I am going to try to get her clipped and pictured over winter break. PM me if interested.

All you had to say was you were the infamous "donkey boy" (lol) Well I am glad you liked her, she was for sale at the time, you could have taken her home ;)

had a full trailer, she woulda been squashed between the calves we were packin.  :(

I know how that is! Be sure to get ahold of me when you start looking next year. I should have a full sib to the heifer pictures, as well as some halves, and a few AI calves.

This is a really nice hefier.  She would do very well where I am from.  I was just wondering how the  registery of shorthorn pluses worked.  How much shorthorn has to be in their breeding?

Shorthorn Plus is basically the Shorthorn Associaton's percentage program, but it sounds like you already knew that.
They can be Shorthorn plus as 1/4 breds.
