I've never shown a beef steer before and was curious about clipping. Does it differ a lot from clipping a heifer? any tips or advice? Also any opinions on how he is developing? sorry for the poor quality photos, the are just from my cell phone. and please excuse the manure.

Thank you!

On a heifer your gonna clip the neck down pretty tight into the shoulder junction and try to make her look really feminine in the front 1/3. On a steer you wouldn't clip as tight as you want them to appear more masculine.

Looks to be a great steer, in a heifer you are looking to make them look as long and feminine as can be, with a steer you want to maintain as much hind quarter and shoulder mass while keeping his middle and top line balanced out to make that complete package look.

When you clip a heifer your want her to almost look "boxy" in the back and on her belly
When clipping a steer you want him to look defined and masculine
I think he is looking good do you have a weight on him
