Ok as some of yall know Im new to this show cattle thing. Well I have have my first show coming up in 29 days(lol not that Im counting down or anything  ;D ) Well my question is what are some terms a judge will give when discussing his placings/giving advice and what do they mean. Some of the terms I heard are like pig latin to my ears. So bring them on so Im more able to understand this cattle show thing :D

oh the list goes on and on lol, some of the ones i hear alot that get people are bold shoulder (meaning they are big and too stout in the shoulder area). ..  coarse, (depending on what area. needs extension, smoothness, proportionality ). . . finish (term reffering to the fat on a calf). . . green (another term for skinny). weak (needs more power in what ever judge reffers to). . . poppin pasters (they have a popping sensation around the top of their foot, one of those that you need to see in person). hock set (how relaxed they are on their feet). .. thats some that i can have off the top of my head. hope that helps

frame can be determined by hip score hight or just as an excuse by a judge, or an applaud by a judge that has no rhyme or reason for anything. bones size is decided when the generally look at a calves front legs. the bigger the better as long as hes sound

There are so many terms and so many judges use different sayings. So listen to what the judge says about your calf and write it down when you get out of the ring. Also listen to what he says about other classes.
