I received info on this benefit from friends on Facebook and thought I would share here-

A young cattleman named Scott Leemon has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is receiving treatment at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Family friends are organizing an on-line benefit on Caldwell-Willoughby to help the family.  The tentative date is February 18, 2015.

You may contact Emily Adcock to discuss donations for the event.  Her email address is  [email protected]

I don't know any of these parties, but as a cattleman, it is time to step up and help.

May God bless them this Christmas Season.

I'm from the same town as the Lemon family, and this has hit very close to home indeed. I've known Scott since before I was born and was floored to hear this news.

Only edit I would have to make is Scott is my dad's age and a father of 3 boys (men) that are around my age. This makes the diagnosis of Leukemia even more startling.

I know how strong Scott is and have every belief that he will beat this and continue to be an upstanding figure in the Shorthorn breed.

Is this the same family that had a bad wreck a couple years ago?

Yes it is. They are the salt of the earth and I am proud to say friends of mine and also friends with a lot of other people. The Leemon family is one of the oldest Shorthorn breeders in the US. Can't wait to hear from Janet that not only is Scott out of the hospital, but has beaten this terrible disease.
