So what's everyone's thought on these two angus Bulls. Which will add more depth and rib shape while not losing muscle or bone. I now there are a lot more aspects to be looking at in these two Bulls. I was curious to see what everyone's thoughts are.

Primo doesn't have any babies yet, but with the sheer volume of elite females his mother has produced, I'll be very surprised if he isn't a great breeding bull. I mean, have you seen the Nowatzke and Guyer heifers? Not to mention the June McKinley out of her that just brought 80k

We're using both quite a bit, but leaning more towards Primo on our PB Shorthorns. McKinley is another bull we are trying this fall in our IVF program.

Style=Proven

Primo=Undetermined

That is a very simplistic way of comparing the 2 and they may turn out to be both proven, but one never knows.  In a picture judging contest Primo would win every time and it took a while for Style to really catch on.

If I was going to breed a set of cows I would go 80% Style and 20% Primo based solely on predictability.  I haven't even seen any Primo's yet and I know people that talk like they are going to be fantastic.  Time will tell.

Primo is not a producer, he is a show steer club calf bull. The way these angus boys are breeding there cattle with all the first class blood and show Bulls, they will breed out all the power and doabilty. And also where's the mature pic of primo

He won't be two until spring,  so I don't think it's even possible for him to be "mature".

His sister that the Guyer family showed was maybe the stoutest,  biggest footed Angus heifer I've ever seen.

He looks like a Maine/shorthorn. Not the direction they need to go. He is not have enough masculinity to him. The angus is headed to much down the show road with freak necks. And giving up to much maternal and cow power that they are known for. The styles are decent but have to watch the pin width and flanks on them

Have you seen him in person?

The Nowatzke heifer is many things, but freak necked isnt one of them.

I'm not saying Primo will be the next great commercial bull maker,  but for Angus show cattle he is set up to be quite profitable.

  I'm pretty sure there will be a bunch of Primo calves to sort through the next couple of years <beer>

  I'll add another Angus bull into the forum, Refresh, any opinions on him?

I've got a pretty recent pic of Primo in his working clothes!  Really stout, deep and looks to be good footed.  He's not freak fronted...I'd breed to him to a pretty necked one, and maybe watch sheath.  And no...I won't post the pic on here!!    (lol)

In my opinion a bull that injects foot size and bone in the angus breed will make more money I think that's what a lot of angus females lack which cuts down on productive years.
