Any info on this new bull?  Thought I heard he was out in Denver but can't find any info or pictures.  Any help would be great.  Thanks.

I really really like this guy. He reminds me a LOT of his daddy only with him coming out of his withers with a better angle, and with more hair  O0

I saw him personally in Denver and was really blown away by him.  The back 2/3 is just like his sire!  The front 1/3 is better than Hot Rod himself.  If I was going to get really picky I would make him a little stronger in his rear pasterns.  I've already ordered semen on him.  I just wonder when he will be collected.

They told me he was getting collected as soon as they got home, so if he's freezing by now, distributors should have him in the next couple weeks.

Well, I'm pretty sure the group that bought him will get the first dibs at what he produces.  There were ten buyers in the group and they were each guaranteed 100 straws.  Hopefully he's a good producer!

I know there is a lot of hype on Style but I think I like Style's full brother "Trubador"  better.  Not sure if Troubadour will be available, so  if Style can do as well as El Captain then he will be a bull to use.

Trubador came up NHC.  I used ElCapitan last year and loved the calves.  But after we DNA tested them I was almost convinced he was homozygous for NH. LOL  Yah, I know thats lethal.

Here is an El Capitan  heifer from us being shown by the Hauge's of Trails End Ranch.  She won her class at MN Beef Expo and Badger.  I already have our Style semen reserved and will definantly use him.

You're right rtmcc, Trubador and El Captain are both Carriers. (Last I knew, any carrier can not be registered in the Black Angus breed association.)
Style is NOT a carrier.

I think he will be used heavily, but I am a bit reserved on his frame, and carcass.  If he proves himself on growth and carcass,  he will be in the picture for a long time.

Well that settles that!  At least there is a clean bull from this powerful mating.  I will give style a closer look.

Do you think he is too big or small?  I thought he was alright sized.  It does seem like the angus breed is a little bigger than most club calf producers like....

The carcass, I believe, is what killed Hot Rod's semen sales at first.  Then when everything carcass got turned upside down people couldn't get enough of him.

Daddy was known for throwing some unruly ones at times. And remember he is only a yearling so this would be using an unknown bull. I think he will be a little short down his spine but that might work for some.

Also the picture that is on the CV page is not as good as it could be.

I agree with you about him maybe being a little shorter spined than some bulls out there. I think that this will make him more appealing to the club calf guys, or some folks with those freight-train long cows that could probably be a little stronger topped. I think he might cross better than staying purebred, but that is all left to be decided. He is the only new Angus bull I would consider using, not that it matters much since I'm a horn guy!

When I talked to silveras in Denver they were really excited and they should be( it was the day after they sold half semen intrest for 103k) not bad! I thought he was something different and really really cool. Also being a genetic free version of El Captain didnt hurt him at all.

Just looked on Lance's blog on the cattlevisions site and Style was freezing semen on 1/29!

Really liked the looks of the bull in Denver.  Really clean & extended through his front, as some have mentioned.  His HAIR doesnt hurt him at all either.  If I use the bull, IMHO, I'd use him on heavier muscled females (net worth, lookout, marathon type females) as he did get a notch flat for me when that hair was wet. Just a cool bull that I really like, congrats to Silverias on another cool one (clapping) <party>

Hook'em horns, lol. Sorry OFS, I couldn't resist.  Since I am an Angus guy and not a 'horn guy, I also think that Cattle Visions' other new bull, PVF Windfall, is worth a look too keeping in mind his BW.  Both of these bulls are on my short list as well as Cupid, Satchmo,  Ramblin' Fever, and Frontman.  2010 looks like a tough year for sire selections.  All I need is more cows and more customers or at least a bigger LN2 dewers!
