Hi All,
Thought some of you might like to see how Lookout and Style are working on the Simmental cattle... by the way, we love the way these two Angus bulls cross with our Simmental cows.
Z102W is a January Style calf out of our Pearl donor (Black Joker)
Z18W is a February Lookout out of our Stop N Stare donor (Dream On)
Z141X is a January Lookout out of our Sweet Gem donor (Duracell)

Nice Set of % heifers Adrienne.  How has the docility of the Lookouts been?  With having two younger kids on the stick that is something I always like to do a little research on before we use a bull.  Thank you

Thanks everyone, disposition on the Lookouts this year has been real good.  Easy to break and easy to work with.  We had a few last year out of a different donor (grandam to the baldy Lookout pictured) that were a little bit harder headed to begin with but probably did more talking then actual doing (they were quite vocal when they weren't happy)... but they ended up being real good and both were shown by juniors last year.  Calves out of that donor have been known to carry a little more attitude though so I don't think I'd blame it on Lookout.  If I remember correctly I think he has a pretty good disposition score.

I had 4 Lookout  calves (2 heifers & 2 bulls) this year and their dispositions have been great.  Probably going to halter at least one of the heifers and I don't expect any problems. All of the calves have been "friendly" from early on and I can walk up to either heifer out in the field and brush them.

I'd love to have any one of those three! Congratulations! I have some SAV Brilliance SimAngus that just hit the ground a week ago. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

Have any of your Top Grade's hit the ground yet? Looking forward to seeing those!

BTW, Adrienne, nice set of heifers. Where are they headed? Are you selling them in any sales?

Just one so far yesterday. A 60 lb heifer calf. That thing had the most vigor I've seen in a newborn calf...mean as spit!

Thanks again everyone for your comments.. To answer where they're headed.. the first 2 (Style hfr and baldy Lookout) will sell on our production sale in December and the solid black Lookout will sell on the NAILE sale in KY.

Great calves!!  For anyone interested we kept back a BC Lookout bull and he was very docile.  We got our last bunch of calves last spring from him and we really should be pulling some for show but I think we have to many already but we have never had issues with crazy calves.
