Think I'll hold this one away from the herd bull and AI her this fall. Her name is Whitestar Dream 8226U, she's a CNS Dream On daughter out of a Meyers Bonus Dam. There is a pic of her 2011 heifer in the classifieds. This is a pic of her when she was a bred heifer, sorry it's old but its the only pic I had saved to the computer. She has had three heifers, 1 red and 2 that were black. Thinking of AIing her to a Red Simmental just because I like her reds better. I'm thinking Steel Shot or Top Fuel mainly just because I like their looks. Haven't done any number punching or research yet, just thought I'd come here and get some thoughts. Guess I could consider Heterozygous Black Simmental Bulls as well. Think I heard Beefmaker was a nice red sire.

What about the new red bull "Homeboy"? Believe Paulsen's (SP?)  in Iowa own him (or part)....He is a bull I have been thinking of trying for awhile, but I haven't seen EPD's on him.

I like Steel Shot. I have seen him a couple times in a natural environment and he impressed me more than in his picture. He is quite long bodied and massively thick. I personally would use him on a deeper sided cow. He isn't bad himself, but I don't think he'll add guts.

I'll do a shameless plug for a bull we own with Hook's, Gateway, and Rust Mountain View...Hook's Yukon 80Y. Sired by Beef King and his dam is the Mika cow. He had great individual performance and has fantastic EPDs and doesn't look too bad either. I was at the Sim/Red Angus conference last week and was approached by several breeders inquiring on him or telling me they had sampled him and are excited about what they think he will do.

I've used Beef Maker and am still a fan of him. He makes them a bit restricted in their forerib but other than that he's a great all around bull. He just about  always makes nice commercial bulls and his females do a good job.

I'm not familiar enough with any other red Sim bulls to comment on anything else.

LN - me likee that Yukon 80Y!  Shear Force on top and bottom of the pedigree.
Strictly commercial, no show/clubby stuff here - been breeding black for the past 6 years or so - Shear Force sons over Sure Bet daughters out of older Fleckvieh-influenced SimAngus cows, but have been thinking about going back to some reds.
WS Beef Maker has been at the top of my list - and will probably stay there, as he best fits what I'm shooting for, but had also been considering Winchester.  80Y certainly looks to be worth trying.

ABS is running a special on Beef Maker, I bought 10 straws for I think $12  ??? I have not received the bill yet, but it was way under market! I really like my Shear Force females, and that great steer we raised this year was out of a Shear Force first calf heifer (he graded choice YG2 with a carcass value of $1711, and was only 14 months old when processed!).

Thanks alot everybody for the replies so far. We've got 4 Replacement Heifers we're keeping for brood cows and I'm thinking on AIing them as well, therefore I may just try to pick out one sire instead of multiple ones. Which means I'll guess I'm leaning to a calving ease sire. Heifers are 2 golds, 1 cherry red and 1 black. Yukon, Red Iron and Beefmaker are looking pretty nice. Also seen a Red SimAngus bull on Select Sires that I liked the picture of, I think his name was Husker that I thought would click with the heifers. Also what Heterzygous Black Simmental sires does everyone like that isn't a Dream On son? Shear Force should be nice but who else. Again thanks for the help.

Been using Sure Bet here for the past couple of years, while breeding to the black side. Calving ease is real, growth is good, dispositions have been good. epds indicate high marbling, ribeye and tenderness.  API & TI are in the top %.  Moderated frame size some on daughters out of big SimAngus cows, but they're not through growing yet, so may not end up all that small - certainly not dinks, regardless.
I was surprised, however, to see his MCE tank, with the new combined epds - don't know what's up with that, 'cause he'd been well above breed average.

Have been using Hooks Pharaoh 16P, a hetero black son of Shear Force, on Sure Bet daughters last fall and this spring. Look for him at Cattle Visions. Calving ease, higher growth than his sire, good marbling/ribeye/shear, high API/TI.  No calves here yet, but should have some on the ground within the next month or two.

Het Black bulls I like the bulls from the Dominance line, Harkers Crusader or HARKERS/JS DOMINATION look good. Crusader semen is available from http://www.c-morbeef.com/herdsires.htm and Domination is on Cattle Visions.

Use Harkers/JS Domination with caution! Look at his numbers (0 calving ease and 8.9 positive birth weight). I have seen a bunch, and like a lot of them. Ours was breech and big at birth, and because they tend to be so big gutted, they are often broken behind the shoulders (as ours is). He will kill your EPD's if you are worried about them. I have 3 embryos in the tank still sired by him and a Zeis cow, and probably will only put them in if I have too many recips (meaning they are at the bottom of the list). And then they would only go in a very big cow that can have a very big calf!

I really like your heifer.  I work out at the K-State Purebred Unit and we breed a lot of our Simmental's to TNT Top Gun R244.  I also like the bulls GCF Mr Amigo and Top Fuel U250 HR, he is a son of Top Gun.
