I was considering using simmi bulls on angus cows for simmi and showsteer mothers.  After researching my choices are: Steele Force, Dream Catcher, Macho and Rendition.  Give me your thoughtsL  I also like the looks of upgrade but he looks to good to be true.  Give me some thoughts.  I am new to the simmi world.

I think all the bulls you mentioned would work well on Angus cows. Be prepared to shell out big $$$ for Steel Force semen.

I raise SimAngus cattle. Some bulls I've used are SAS T101 Sweet Meat, BMR Explorer, WS Beef Maker, In Dew Time, and Star Power. Now that I know how to use Star Power I think he would work well on Angus cows. I plan on using Upgrade on some cows next breeding season.

Last time I checked, Steel Force semen was $250/straw.

I've always raised PB simmis, but I've heard good things about Macho on Angus cows. I've personally never been a big fan of Macho though. He was always a little up in the flank for me.

Chopper and Rendition are two of my favorite bulls right now. Both blaze face, and throwing some very nice calves. Chopper calves seem to be a little clubbier in my opinion.

In addition to what LN posted, a lot of people seem to like Mo Better and DJ Salution on Angus cows.

I've seen some really nice Upgrades this year, and you can now get him through Genex pretty cheap. Of course, I really like the Rendition calves I have seen at Nationals this year, and several were percentage cattle. Like someone else said, Macho crosses well on Angus, but you lose some rib shape and  flank with him. We have a really nice Macho half blood (in my avatar), and she makes great cow, pretty little udder with nice small teats. In fact I am flushing the Macho half blood to Steel Force in the fall after she calves (having a Mo Better bull calf). But Steel Force is expensive so we only use it to flush with.

I like Amazon & Tanker. Out of the ones mentioned I'll go with Chopper or Dream Catcher since Steel Force Semen is so expensive, but that's just me.

Upgrade has impressed me with almost all of the calves that I have seen! The heifer in my profile pic is an Upgrade, and she looks even better now that she has grown more! Also, I have heard good things about Flying B Cut above on crossbred females. All of the bulls that you have mentioned are good as well, and I hear that Rendition is really good on crossbred cows. Dream on has also been used heavily in my area for crossbreeding, and the results are amazing!

Momma's Boy has some great maternial genetics also FYI!!
Mamma's Boy is a half blood, if I remember correctly, which would give you 1/4 bloods. Can get papers but can not show in Simmi shows. Just FYI

I have had good results with Macho on Angus cows and have some in production now.  Also, I have used Olie, Upgrades sire with good results on Simmental heifers and cows (not on Angus).  Have also used Mo Better on angus with good results.  You will get some baldies out of both Macho and Mo Better.  Dispostions have been good on all three sires mentioned.

Used Macho on WMW/Angus. Small very moderate freak necked female. Macho made a beautiful replacement female with a puppy dog attitude. I have retained her and her calf. Beautiful udders milk is pretty good and great momma's. That is my little experience.
