I judged the Simmental at Tulsa State Fair a few years ago, and I remember a couple of breeders that had particularly good cattle. I visited with some of the breeders after the show, and they were friendly and inviting. Kurt and Joann Hamburger of HH Farms did a nice job...

There was another family, and I can't recall their last names at the moment. Two brothers...I think they were named Jeff and John...maybe...
REALLY strong set of cattle though. I want to say their prefix is WS and their last name starts with a "W" but it's been a few years and I can't remember...sorry.
I do remember a lot of good cattle. It was a strong show, so I'm sure there are still breeders around. I also judged at Ft Worth and had a lot of cattle from Oklahoma. Those same two breeders had a strong set that year as well, and a lot of the better cattle were from Oklahoma if I remember correctly.
You could also check with the ASA about a list of breeders from your area. Ask for a copy of the SimTalk breeders directory which has all the members broken down by state. The ASA field reps also know a lot of breeders who may not advertise as much but have good cattle or would be good to work with if you want to buy or lease a heifer.
Good luck!
