If you had to choose 1 simmi-influenced (1/2 blood or purebred) bull to use on commercial angus cows to build a herd of simm-angus females, which would it be?  Now I realize that Meyer might be the favorite, but lets keep it to bulls in which semen is a little more reasonably priced.  I think my 2 front-runners are Dream On and Fat Butt, somebody tell me different!

Macho works pretty good on Angus.  I think the females are more maternal than the Dream Ons.  Semen is reasonable on this Meyers son.

Star Power works pretty good  on angus.  We have a pretty good bull calf out of him.

From what I've seen I would use Harwood 209.  Not easy to get maybe but very nice females.

Well that 209 bull might work since I have 4 or 5 straws in the tank.

Backlash and Whizard are 2 Simmi influenced bulls that really interest me. They're well bred and cheap semen, but I've yet to see calves off of them.

Id say Dream on but his semen is not very reasonable any more.  Meyer sons are a great choice and the 209 bull isnt bad either.  Good Luck

Biased opinion here, but Built Right certainly makes females.  They are turning out to be some our best uddered and nicest milking young cows on the place.

Only complaints about Built Right would be you can get a little too much white with the wrong breeding combination...and occassionally one might be a little nervous.

Have you covered any simm-ang heifers with BR ?

I like the couple of Goldmine L42 cows that i have, Dream On should work.  I bred quite a bit of Trademark this year.  Anybody have thoughts on Trademark daughters?

How is the 209 bull for calving heifers?  That is one interesting pedigree on him.  Other than 734 he is a dang good outcross if you are looking for one.
