We just bought some simmi cows and were wondering if someone on here could give us some informaiton how their pedigrees read? Reg#2252378, 2252385, 2252396, 2365577 We bought them based on their production records and phenotype but not being a simmi breeder their pedigrees mean little to me. They are all mid six frame cattle that appeared to be fairly easy fleshing, plenty of guts and muscle. If you might also have a suggestion or two for bulls to breed them to to produce heifers I would take that information as well. Thanks

I looked your cows up on the ASA database.  With Full Figures and Perfector in the pedigrees, you picked some good maternal genetics to start with.  Also, Wildberry has some really good cows.  I have had good luck with Trademark on the same kind of cows.  Excellent milk EPD and the cows are sound and attractive.  He seems to add thickness and hair...at least he has for me.

I haven't looked them up individually, but Full Figures and Perfector tend to be "leggy".. so use something that has good depth.

Thanks for the help. Any ideas for clubby bulls that might work to produce those show heifers? Would there be any appeal for their calves to be out of an OCC bull such as Anchor or Prototype?

We have used OCC Legend on those kind of cows.  It is a great crosss as Legend adds style and reduces frame.  You will love the calves.

I would agree with bulldaddy we used legend on some meyer grandaughters and bulldaddy is right. Moderates size and definately adds style. If you don't mind me taking this another direction what is your guys  opinion to breed these heifers too.  I am refering to the females we got out of the legend x meyer cross.  Any experience with this yourself or any you have run across that has worked and what didn't.  Thanks
