Anyone have any calves coming from Grindstone Creek's Mr. Amigo?

He won Grand earlier today.  I believe he was Reserve at the Royal.  No surprise a Dream On son.  I really like his yearling pictures last year.

He has decent EPDs too. I didn't see any progeny in the ASA herdbook, but it might be too early for that. I used WS Beef Maker for my red Simmy bull this year. I'll let GCF find out whether he's worth a hoot as a sire and then I might think about using him.

I went to Grindstones web site they have some good looking sires. I like 10 out of the 15 on their sire page. Hard Rock for some reason really catches my eye.

Is it me, or did it seem like there weren't that many entries in the Simmental bull show, maybe the entire Simmy show since Ft Worth is so soon afterwards?

I saw this bull at the AR and really liked him there.  He's a lot better in person than even the good picture indicates.  We will probably use him sparingly this spring.  IMO, his biggest drawback is not the fact that he is red but the fact that he is a DO son.  That will limit his use in our herd at least.

I would think that the Denver simmi show was hurt by the Nat'l deal at Ft Worth in such a short period of time.
