We bred an angus cross cow to the Shorthorn bull Sin City and she is 5 Days over right now..Is this common with him, because she is usually right on time!!  Thanks so much, also I am so glad I found this board...all the other boards have a LOT of whining  (lol)

It never hurts to have them checked if you are worried about the calf size. Older cows can go few days early or few days late. There are a few on here that have used him more.

We just had a Sin City calf this week.  He came at 282 days and was an easy birth although it was -15 degrees when he was born and almost froze his ears off.    I have heard from some others that Sin City calves can be fairly large though and I was not going to let her go very far past 283 days without inducing her.  Hope this helps!!

I have had 3 calves from him and they were 4-5 days later than other cows their age and 7-8 days later than heifers.  They were not too large for the cows, but were long legged and big bone and they grow real well.

My two fasting growing calves are by Sin City and the old Maine bull Strutt, who I bred to a 1/2 Angus and 1/2 Maine.  Both cows are mature cows and weigh 1000-1200 at work and while dry.  The two bulls are out growing everything and really look good except they will be too long legged (too tall) to make a great club calf.
