Size of Combustible Calves

For those who have calved out some of the Combustible Calves, how have the birth weights been?  Thanks in advance

We had 3 ET heifers and they ranged from 72 to 75 lbs.  The natural bull calf weighed 74 lbs.

How are you liking them?

We really like them.  It seems they get better everyday.  Plenty of bone, stout, and deep enough.  They are all out of the same cow, I wish I would have used him on some other cows to see how the different matings worked. 

I have 2. Both high 80s. Good bone, decent hair.  A little more leg than I expected. Both out of Angus cows. Time will tell,  I guess right now I like my Royal Affair calves better. I will use combustible again,  he's an awesome looking bull. Better in person than the picture in my opinion.

Gary, what type of cows is Royal Affair working on? I've seen him in person a few times and seen a few calves. To me the calves looked super thick and deep but short necked and quite moderate. I'm thinking about using him but not sure if the calves will grow or stay small little puds. Thanks.

I used him on bigger pretty fronted cows. The cows are out of a northern improvement son bred similar to lutton. Since I couldn't get lock and load semen I decided to try royal affair and use him where I would have used lock and load.

The calves are more moderate,  definitely thick and deep.  Mine are all pretty fronted.  I think they'll get big enough,  wish they were bigger boned. Mine were all smaller at birth than the 2 combustibles except for 1. I had 1 bull 100+ rest were much smaller.

I never actually have seen royal affair.  He was recommended by another breeder who seen him at Denver.  I bred him to a chromed up Meyer granddaughter out of a heatwave son that is a full faced baldy and he took every spot of white off the calf.
