Meyer 734 was a definite sleeper.  Unknown pedigree, ugly, horned, Simmental bull that didn't really work too well on Simm females.  Luckily he was sampled on some Angus and Red Angus cows, or we may not have had the opportunity to use one of the greatest female makers of all time.

If anyone happens to have a copy of Gib Yardley's sale catalog from last year, it has the write-up of where 734 came from.  It's an impressive read.

Yeah, I would call him a sleeper.  Some people thought his daughters wouldn't be worth a hoot, but I think they're pretty nice.  One of the bulls that can sire show winners and bulls that will please the commercial cattleman.
