So my angus show steer and show heifer had warts and lice really bad back in March, and no matter what I tried I couldn't get either to go away. They both had really heavy haired coats, so the vet said I should try slick sheering their whole bodies since that's what he did with his kid's calves. So that's what I did, and it worked really fast, warts and lice were gone within a week. The heifer was sheered March 31st and the steer on April 2nd, I have shows in May, August, and September, I don't know how to get the hair back as healthy as it can be by September, it'is ALMOST double the length it was when I clipped them, I was wondering if anybody had any tips or tricks after slick sheering? I don't know if I did it too late to have good hair by September but it's worth at least asking!

We always started trying to grow hair hard 90 to 100 days out from our fair, so time wise your fine. The trick is to brush. brush, brush, rinse, brush, brush, and brush some more.

I'm not going to recommend any one supplement but there are quite a few out there to choose from to help with hair growth and health.

Good luck

This won't help you grow any hair, but FWIW warts are much easier to prevent than they are to treat. We fought warts for a few years before we started giving a wart vaccine and booster. Haven't had any issues since.
