So I'm thinking of  using Slider on some of my heifers this year.  Looking for input from anyone that has experience with how his heifer calves grow and what type of mama cows you think they would make.  These heifers are half to quarter blood simmies.  Thanks for any input.

Thank you!  I appreciate the honesty.  While I do want something pretty low birthweight for my heifers I definitely want calves that are usable.  Either as show calves or replacements.  If they don't grow well I will look elsewhere.  I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in.  I thought he was a fairly popular bull the last couple years.

The slider steers we have had grew well.  I think the heifers will make good cows.  Have used him for a couple of years and haven't had a problem.

Thank you both for the responses.  Anyone else have experience with this bull?  I really thought more people would have had calves out of him.

If you are a #s person, IE, EPDs there are a ton of bulls that have more performance. Link below

You are right on the numbers for sure.  I have been looking the last few days and I am probably not as likely to use him as I thought.  I still welcome any and all input.  I ran across some very positive remarks on Connelly Capitalist and he has s definitely on the list now.  I will also check out No Remorse.

I've been noticing Capitalist also. EF Epic has captured my attention. Eathington Sub Zero has been getting heavy use by the clubbie crowd. Ty Webster picked up an Insight X PVF Blackbird bull out in Denver that I may go take a look at. I've heard good things about him.

I bred a group of heifers to a son of Connealy Capitalist named LD Capitalist 316 carried by Beef 360. Great numbers and have heard good reports. We start calving mid-february.

What about No Remorse O0

Mark, I am a huge No Remorse fan, but his numbers have changed a bit. And I'm not sure I'd use him on a heifer....unless she was closely monitored.

I was actually looking at the LD Capitalist bull earlier today on Cattlevisions webpage and he did stick out to me also.  Would love to here what you think of the calves when they start coming.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I would be happy to.answer any Slider questions you may have. Slider has worked extremely well for many breeders on several different breeds. He sired 4 national champions this year all out of heifers. He is a maternal bred bull I am confident he will make some tremendous females. Contact me if I can help in any way. Dave
