Thanks for the compliments! She will be shown as a commercial female, as not many shows around here have market heifer and she actually is a bit to feminine in her front to really compete as a market. She is headed to World Beef Expo this week, so I should have a new pic soon.

Boot Jack, I'll come check her out at Expo. I'll be there with a shorthorn + bred.

I won't be there myself this year (first time not able to go in 6 years  :'( ), but I'm sure my sister would love to talk with you about her. She is the only clubby we have and is my 16 year old sister's pet project. She will be up in the main barn with the Limi breeders under Boot Jack Cattle Co. She will be also showing an Angus cow/calf pair that has one dang good bull calf at the side.

Boot Jack-
We ended up being across the aisle from your cattle company and showed in the same class as her in the open show and was one class heavier in the junior show.

Wow, small world! What was your overall impression on her? She is our only clubby bred female, so any input is appreciated. My mother said the judge commented that she was "too plain". I know she lacks some pizzaz, but maybe a different angle on the clip and fit jobs might help? She is going to MN expo in a few weeks, so I can see we have some adjustments to make.

I think she just needed a little more hair to make her look more smooth. Your family did a great job fitting her and such and I thought she moved very well in the terrible sand pit that they called a ring at the show.  Little more hair would make her look deeper and flanked and make her top line look smoother. Have you bred her yet?

Thanks for the input! She should have a bit more hair to work with by the next show, so we will keep your critique in mind. She is/was bred to one of our calving ease Limi bulls, but they thought she may have cycled at expo. Will have the vet out to check her out soon. I understand sometimes clubby bred heifers are tough to get to stick. Hopefully that's all it is and she doesn't have some major issues going on......
