Following along some of threads about older genetics and I came across this photo of a cow calf pair we showed at the 1986 Calgary Stampede. The cow, Diamond Platinum Susan 5P is a straight beef pedigree and the calf, Diamond Uranium Susan 6U, is by Deer Trail Private Eye. We have two ET daughters of 6U in production today and she has descendants all across Canada. Recently a bull in the Who's Your Daddy sale traced back to 6U on the maternal side, (7 generations but it has been 30 years since she was born!)

Shouldn't that cow have been about 3' feet taller to win in '86 ?
I didn't say she won! That's just a candid class ring shot. The calf did win a few classes by herself.

Thanks Gary! Rowantree was owned by J.D Rowan, I believe in Saskatchewan and were beef bloodlines, I think with some Gallinger breeding(Killearn). Rowantree Favorite was sired by Cyril M and out of Rowantree Louise but I can't find the rest of the pedigree right now.
