I received my copy of the September Shorthorn Country last night and a Canadian breeder also has Speckle Parks.  I have done some looking at them and I find them very appealing as another option for a very self- sufficient and commercial type breed.  Are there any established breeders in the US at this time?
I would love to be able to look at some in the Midwest.
Thanks
EF

You are probably referring to  the 8th Annual Hill Country Classic Shorthorn and Speckle Park sale.  Matlock Shorthorns host in Sask. Canada. I have attended the sale 2 yrs now. Jim & Creta Haydock "Matlocks" have or knew the founding breeder .... long story short several breeders in there area of cow country have Speckle Parks now. When they started the shorthorn sale they invited what was just a couple of breeders of Speckle Parks 8 yrs ago. Anyhow the deal has exploded... large show at Agribition.
Super moderate in type ... colors vary and the people are very nice. I am not an expert..if you call a breeder or Allan Crogie, ON . You might find out more information- they are "hot item" to say the least. The Hill country Classic can fill every seat with standing room only... like I said it's cow country and many of the bids come from the seats. The breeders both shorthorn and speckle park are well recieved ... sale averages are very good.  Here is a link to the catalog www.matlockshorthorns.com  They photo very early so the young cattle change alot by sale time Oct 27th.
