Now that is one good critter!  He moves like a cat and there is no question of his structural soundness.  I'm glad to see this breed that was developed here in Saskatchewan getting the recognition it deserves, even if much of it is on the other side of the world!  The good Speckle's are amazing. A few years ago at Agribition, the Speckle Park were stalled across from our Shorthorns. There was a Speckle cow on the end across from us that was one of the best females of any breed that I have seen in a long while. She should have been in the hunt in the Supreme show that year.

I'm becoming more and more appreciative of the Speckles. Sure, they have their issues, but what breed doesn't?
And, even as a Shorthorn breeder, I'm prepared to admit that the best steak I've had was a Speckle Park (yes, it hurts to admit it!).

The good steak was probably inherited from the Shorthorn genetics in the Speckies!

That was my explanation... the good eating qualities must definitely come from the Shorthorn part of their heritage!
