I have known Gerald Spry for probably 25 years or maybe even more. He is a great guy and he also has a lot of cattle smarts. I purchased the Canadian rights to Sprys True Blue Y033 who was at that time the record selling Shorthorn bull in Australia. True Blue had outstanding carcass data and he turned out to be a  very easy calving bull as well. He was used extensively across Canada and I think he did a very good job here.

Gerald and Lynden Spry and their son Matt and wife Kate, operate a honest well run operation that is geared to produce bulls for the commercial beef industry in Australia. Gerald has used genetics from around the world to build the Spry herd. He purchased 30 embyos from us about 7 years ago and most of these have worked very well in their herd. They have two bull sales each year and they are some of the best each year in Australia.

Rockdell Pride 50K was bred in Saskacthewan by the Jim and Connie Graham at Lone Rock.306-387-6679. His dam was still producing last year at 14 years of age (thumbsup)
He was used first at Huberdale Shorthorns (Bill, Ryan & Aaron Huber)306-336-2684
and then he was used at Fantasy Lane in Ontario (Rick Salzsauler)519-824-9044
I think semen was available on 50K at one time. Anyone of the above might have something available with his bloodlines.

As far as I know, Fantasy Lane and Hubers have Rockdell Pride 50K semen available in Canada and the US.

Recently they have been using Waukaru Patent but another bull that has had an influence at Sprys is JR Legend 78H bred and raised at Othello, Washington.

Sprys True Blue Y033 is a son of JR Legend 78H. I believe JR Ranch own the US rights in True Blue and last I heard they still had semen available on him . Here is a pic of True Blue as a yearling an also a pic of the first calf we had by him. This calf is 2 days old when this picture was taken

Here is a picture of True Blue's dam, Moombi Kate S50. She was one of Sprys major donor females for several years. Also pictures is Sprys Master Blaster, a bull that topped their bull sale a few years ago.

This pic is an Alta Cedar Ultimate 130K daughter in the Spry herd. She is an ET from one of the embryos we sold to Sprys a few years ago. A son of this cow topped Sprys 2010 bull sale at $18,000.  AC Ultimate 130K is a former herdsire at Muridale ( coyote on SP)

Acquired the South African semen rights for Spry's All Gold D052 in 2009.  Have had excellent results.  I believe that Scott Leemon acquired the U S rights after a visit to Spry's, in 2010 if I remember correctly!

Progeny have good growth and have consistently weaned heavier than progeny of the other bulls I have weaned in the same contemporary group.  First two sons will be on our sale in September 2012.  Expect first daughter to calve in Feb 2013.

Will find some pictures when I have a chance.

Here is the donor cow sired by Spry's Jack Pot that we owned until she died last summer, WF Athena W50H.  I do have two DF Waco bulls and a WHR Sonny heifer out of her this year.

We are just getting ready to flush DFS RIDER'S GEROGINA 850 to All Gold and I couldn't be more exited. The other cow I wish to flush that way is Ash Valley Kendra 7142 (grand dam of TM Gus 36S). He looks like the real deal and so do the calves at Leemon's out of him.

I'm pretty sure there were a couple of Spry's All Gold ET calves at Shadybrook when we were touring there a couple of weeks ago. I think they were were out of the Spry's Maid X147 cow. They had calves out of her by other bulls as well that were really fancy.
There will probably be calves out of Maid at their sale in September.
