Ok, so I am wanting to get some information on Star Power.  I know he's a Dream On son....what are BW like, etc.  I am planning on breeding him to a Full FlushX CharxMaine cow for some replacements.  Let me know what you think.

I've heard of several good ones, but definately not a heifer bull.  Heard there is a real good bull and heifer calf out of Star Power X Harietta!

We personally have not used him, but I had a friend that did, ended up pulling all calves out of him and lost two , I believe.....

Young bull that has definitely proven to do one thing and one thing for you....be inconsistent.  Small calves and big calves, smooth shouldered and rough shouldered, pretty good and pretty aweful, and these comments are from seeing flush mates.

I feel like I almost used the wrong semen last year -- marked Star Power bull in reality -- MONGO the puller stretcher!!!

Three calves is all we had bred to him.

83 pounds bull -- 5 days early.

122 pounds bull -- 4 days early.

Tonight -- we just got a monster -- over 130 to be complimentary -- another BULL, from a moderate cow and was 7 days over due. He is half grown at 3 hours old! I have never seen a calf have to get on it's knees to suck -- but that is what he is doing right now! HUGE

If you are like me, and love your cows like I do -- stay the heck away from him on ANYTHING with clubby genetics in the pedigree. I know I Have a small test -- but holy crud -- that's enough already!

This cow will go to town now -- she tore up pretty good, and I was real carefull. His feet are bigger than my fist! He may very well be a great steer -- but is going to cost me a cow!

Done talking now -- enough is enough!

Sorry

Terry

OK....so the post are a bit everywhere....high BWs and low BWs.  What about the sire.....Dream On?  He is listed as a heifer bull....does he throw smaller calves?  Thanks for any information!

Thanks for that bit of info!  Does Dream On make good replacements/females?  Also, what are some other simi bulls that make good females.  BWs are not a BIG issue, but I don't want to be like Cowboy and have to ride her big booty to town after she weans off the calf.  Thanks for all the information guys!

Dream On's are turning out to be some of the best replacement females. Great mother's! A sure fire calving ease bet and show ring eye appeal is Nichols Muhhamad! He is smooth shouldered, big boned, HAIRY (for a simmental), and sound as a cat. First calf heifer deluxe! Good Luck

We used some star power and so far the calves have been 90ish. But as long as you breed him to something with some depth you will look like a guenies otherwise i have seen some horable ones.
