I've seen some good ones and my brother had good luck on a heifer but also know of several train wrecks. Too inconsistent, wouldn't recommend for heifers. Use the SP search and check for other Star Power threads.

He is complete hit and miss.  70+ pounders and whoppers.  I know of one they cut out of donor recipient due to size.  All you need to know is, he went from being marketed as a heifer bull, to not being marketed as one after one breeding season.

I used him and competely agree, hit and miss. He should be used on cows only.

Thanks for the information.  I guess I will head back to the drawing board.  Better to a live one out of a heifer and not try for a great one first trip out  8)

Lookingfor a maternal based bull.  These heifers are from very reputible breeder and are kind of a mixed bag.  (2) HW, (1) HS/WMW, (1) Final Link, (1) Grizz/Payback, (3) Aftershocks, (3) Char Crosses and a few others.  Many of these are full sibs to some former champion steers.  Would like to find one maternal bull to breed them all to.  Was considering Ali 2.  Suggestions are appreciated.

For one to fit all those pedigrees, Northern Improvement would be one I would consider.

If you are going to use an Angus bull to make clubby momma's,which is what you should prbably do,Northern Improvement is proven, but he is not the one all,be all. He isn't as consistant on crossbred cows.If you want true and tried Angus genetics that really work best for Angus based club calf genetics,Lut, Lutton,Jacee's Ramblin Fever[contact me for semen]and Juneau. Yes there are other Angus bulls that work, but these are the most consistant on crossbred cows, for soundness, hair, and phenotype.

If you are going to keep those clubby females especially the ones that have clubby in them for two generations you should really use a calving ease angus bull.  The angus bulls listed are very good bulls and are fairly calving ease but not on those powered up females.
I had two juneas a couple years ago out of second calvers and they weighed 95 and 105 lbs and that was weighed.  Glad it wasnt their first calves.  These two are full sisters and do have some birth weight in them being out of full flush and a very stout TJ (simi) cow.
When you purchase heifers you dont know their honest birth weight and my goal is to get a live calf the first year and hopefully a heifer calf to make into a cow.
Last year a friend (jbw) had me use Morgans Direction and i have to say they are very good calves and come easy.  The bull really works on clubby females.  Mine came from 65 to 83 lbs with no issues.  And it is not always the birth weight that is the issue but how the calf is shaped.  Helped one but just because i saw her calving in middle of nite put chains on and pulled by hand.  And to my surprise these calves have really backed on the muscle at just a month of age.  They probably arent as big boned as a Lut or junea but they are alive.
I have calved alot of heifers in 16 years and have seen some incredible looking females get ruined after just one calf.

I believe your post was what to use for clubby momma's correct? I don't breed heifers to just anything. I have bred heifers that have some size and after checking the pelvic area to Lutton and to BEB Juneau. Have NEVER had a calf over88**lbs.weighed on scales. I will continue this practice, especially to Juneau. I get the bone and hair that I desire, with no structure problems. We currently have a JUNEAU heifer in the girls showbarn that has done some winning, that is out of a first calf heifer. Until a few months ago I never heard of Morgan's Direction. Have heard some good things about him,but don't know whether his owner gets on here and promotes him or what. On this forom is the only time I ever heard of him though.Would like to see some calves. The black heifer in our avatar is the Juneau. After 2 calf crops from about 8 different herds from Nebraska,Kansas,Oklahoma,Montana,South Dakota, and I believe Ohio, the ONLY Angus bulls I"ll use is Juneau and Jacee's Ramblin Fever, unless something comes along to convince me otherwise, for club calf production they are as good or better than ANY Angus we have used, dating back to about 1965. Consistency is what I look for and BOTH can be used on heifers or cow's with proper management and common sense.
