Does everyone fit their cattle for showmanship at Tulsa?  We are trying to decide whether to enter or not.  After hauling and standing in a strange place, we don't want to stress our calf more than necessary.

I was waiting to see if someone answered that knew for sure, but since no one has...  I believe the reason it says fitting is optional is because it will be directly following the prospect show, so those may not have time to break down, wash, dry and make it back (actually, most likely the prospect show won't even be over by that time).  I haven't really watched it lately, but I'm betting no one fully fits their market steers for it - I wouldn't, but that's just me.  My daughter's thinking of trying it this year, but we'll prob'ly just wait 'til we get there to enter, so we can see how the time looks.

I say fit if possible.  It shows the judge that you started sooner, worked harder , and cared more about your appereance in the show ring than the kids who didn't.. G-Luck
