The 3/8 Maine bull McKinley (Summit x OSU Ultra Son/Meyer) is a 2015 model. His semen is sold through RS Pinnacle Sires.

1. I am thinking there should be two calf crops on the ground from him. Wondering how he has worked for you or what calves look like, that you may have seen out of him.

2. I have heard he is promoted as a "maternal bull" for making replacement females? Is this true? How are his heifers?

3. I as I know little of the Summit sire or his OSU dam, would his breeding indicate "maternal sire"?

How are the McKinleys coming? How do they compare to the Burwell and Stacked Deck calves?

Been thinking about using one of these 3 on a baldy Hot Rod x Broker x Harietta. I have some McKinley in the tank already and would like to keep the baldy if possible.

I had my first one 2 days ago. She's out of a Daddy's Money 3 yr old and was 14 days early (she also Bismark last year at 13 days early) She's maybe 65-70 pounds. Was up fast and lots of vigor.

I know Winegardner flushed their Ace cow to him and those are really nice calves. Big bodied and sound. If you go to their sale from last year there are videos of three of them.

We had two McKinley bull calves a year ago. Both are completely different. Size wise they seemed to follow their dams.
One bred to a larger frame chi x cow, not known for her gentleness, calf is large framed and you could pet him in the pasture, not much to look at show wise.
Other bred to a moderate framed docile simmy cow, calf is moderate framed, a tremendous individual really. Would have made a really competitive show steer. Crazier than a three peckered billy goat.
We sold both as feeders to the same person. I guess I will have to go take another look. I realize that is only 2 calves. I would love to here more about his calves as well.

Here is the McKinley x Daddys Money heifer I mentioned in the Spring. She's a bit coarse fronted, but overall, I'm pretty happy. She is super quiet and gentle, she's only been haltered for 2 weeks but tolerated a long teaching clipping session yesterday. Perfect for the 15 yr old, first time showman that is working with her. She has tons of hair that made for a great opportunity to turn the kid loose with a set of clippers.
