Hi all, we've always used Sullivan fitting products and really liked them.  I've got no reason to switch brands, but I've heard alot of good things about Weaver fitting products.  Has anyone used Weaver products (I'm mainly interested in their adhesive and red & black touch up)?  Just curious...

We used Weaver and Sullivan this year, liked both of them. Weaver is a bit more cost effective, the red touch up we used, the black we have not used but one our friends uses it almost exclusive. Hope this helps. Sullivans is a bit easier to get around here, they are a lot shows where Weaver we have to order. Just my 2 cents.

We solely use Weaver now. Like all the aerosols better. Seems like the paints just spray better and cover faster.

We switched to Weavers and love it. Their adhesives are great they have plenty of hold yet are still easy to comb even hours later. The red touch up paint is the best we have found for herefords. Everything we use is now weavers down to the shampoo and conditioners. Their adhesive remover is also wonderful spray one side then spray the other and then go back and you can run a comb right through it and it washes out super easy. Not to knock Sullivan they make great products, but Weaver is so much better and easier to use.

Sullivan adhesives are far better. The weaver glue falls down in the humidity.  Sullivan Revive  and kleen sheen is hard to beat. Like the weaver red paint but the Sullivan black covers much better,as a whole the product lines are not close. Next time your at a major show with the big boys look around ..... 90percent is Sullivan cans .

We use them both.  Weaver's red paints cann't be beat.  The blending abilities are phenominal.  Sullivan adhesives are hard to beat.

We use the Weaver can's (adhesive and all) when my little boy is going to help fit.  He can't spray the Sullivan can's with one hand.  Way to hard and by the time he sprays, sets can down, gets scotch comb...adhesive is dry and he's mad lol.  Even Sullivan's black paint is hard for him.  So...I keep both in the tack box and both kids are happy

We used to use exclusively Sullivan products, but have found that Weaver final mist and ProRemover work far better than the sullivan Versions and are more cost effective (compared to both Hocus Pocus and EZ-All Remover). You can't beat the Sullivan adhesives though, especially for hair that hasn't been worked on as much as it should have been. They also hold up much better in hot sticky weather or if you have one that needs to get shown for overall drive and needs to stand for awhile. Sullivan black paint covers more effectively too.

Weaver products are more user friendly if you don't have a lot of experience fitting one, but Sullivan's in a whole is way better if you know how to use them

Personally I like products by both provider, partial to the white powder of weavers. I do think that for a lighter glue I still prefer prime time. Heavy stuff? then I like the weavers strong glue. I would simply suggest trying to mix and match. Find what works for you and have a little fun.

I really don't think it's close. Every product that Sullivan makes is a better product except the reds of weaver work nice. Weaver seems to be trying to buy their way in.

Bob May has now switched and signed with weaver.

i personally use a bit of both yet. ive been experimenting with the weaver. i like their white as a builder but still use sullivans as a cover up if theres over spray. i use only proremover now for breaking down. and we mostly use the purple pro wash for my white heifer i showed last yr. the adhesives work alrite in average conditions, but we had issues in the extremes, they didnt work at all at state fair for me.

I love the weaver dairy adhesive! Use it on my horses for a great all day hold.  Sadly they discontinued it.  Also use the lamb conditioner, propink, and purple shampoo.  Cheaper and way easier for me to get.  I don't find much difference in the lamb conditioner or shampoo.  I never used pink oil, but I like how long the propink lasts and doesn't have a greasy feel..  definitely agree with with the user friendly statements.  Very good spray tips on them

From my experience the oils, conditioners, shampoos, adhesive removers are very comparible.  I agree the red paints blend and match better, but I think that is partially because they dont cover as well.  As far as paints go I think Sullivans covers a lot better but I think that is why it is harder to blend and match as well.  As far as adhesives there is no comparison in my opinion.  Weavers just dont hold, if you have the slightest bit of humidity they just dont set.  I think that is what makes them more user friendly for youngsters and newbies.  They dont set therefor they are easier to continue to comb through.  Sullivans set, and HOLD that is why you cant comb through easier.

On a side note, Sullivans does not give supplies to those big time fitters, they buy them because they are tried and true.  Weavers on the other hand are SPONSORING people like Stierwalt and May who sign with them.  This means they are giving them money and product.  I dont think anyone will ever surpas Sullivans. They are the ones who created the products that others are mimicking, they are also continuously trying to find ways to improve the products they already have.  They are miles ahead of other companies when it comes to product development, plus they do so much more to support the youth in the industry.

I like all sullivans products better except the weaver removers. We use the pro-refit, it almost seems to take out the adhesive better than the proremover. I was wondering if anyone could message me the difference between the sullivans adhesives? I understand tail adhesive is the strongest and prime time is kind of average, but what are the formula one and e-z comb? Thanks in advance!
