The summer shows here in Manitoba are in the books.  We've had one of our best runs ever.  Now it's time to start making plans for the big fall shows but before that I thought I'd share some pics of the string.

First Pic is CAM POLL Xpressive 012X (EXLR Total Control) and her Feb bull calf NYK Hades 13D (Amaglen Zeus).  She was Champion Limousin Female at every single show she attended and was Supreme Female over all breeds 3 times.

Second Pic is N7's Lass 152Z (N7's Net Worth 92U) and her March heifer calf NYK Lass 17D (NYK Graceland 39B).  She was Champion Angus Female at 4 out of 5 shows including our provinicial show, and was supreme female over all breeds at the largest show, Harding Fair which has earned her a trip to the RBC Supreme Challenge at Canadian Western Agribition!

Third pic is NYK Miss Eva 32B (HF Kodiak 5R) and her feb hfr calf (Baldridge Download).  She placed first in class at 6 shows and 2nd once and was named Reserve Champion Angus Female at our provincial show.

Fourth pic is a January heifer calf, NYK Tibbie 3D (Shipwheel Montana).  She also placed first in class at 6 shows and 2nd once.  She was heifer calf Champion at our provincial show and also won an all breeds championship at another show.

Last pic is a poor pic of my Angus yearling bull NYK MacGyver 5C (SAV Resource).  He was Champion angus bull at 3 shows, Supreme Champ at one show and Reserve Champion Angus Bull at our summer provincial show.  Most importantly he bred all of my best cows and looks reasonably good considering his workload.

We're awfully proud of the group this year and I think they will only get better by fall.

Thanks Mark. In my experience the Angus genetics being used in the show ring in the US won't provide enough mass for our bull buyers so I've stayed away for the most part.  We don't have much of a show heifer market here so my show cows need to produce commercial bulls and replacement females for my own herd.  There's a good chance many of my cattle would be considered too large for the ideal commercial ranch in the US though.  I have had a lot of success using US bulls from some of the more performance oriented herds (SAV, TC, Baldridge, Tokach, MOGCK) on my cows and then keeping the best sons for use in my herd.

As for the feet/legs comment I'll just say I don't have the time or patience for bad ones and neither do my customers.
