We should have our sale catalog on our websites in the next day. You can check it out at www.horseshoecreekfarms.com  or www.ulurushorthorns.com or www.anwendercattlecompany.com or at www.poplarparkfarm.com .
We are selling 49 yearlings and 1 two year old bull this year. I am thinking this is the deepest quality set of bulls we have offered yet.

We have had several people asking us what out calves by HC FL Touchdown 123T ET are like. Here are some sons selling in the sale. They tell the Touchdown story better than I could. They are medium framed, thick and soggy made. Great tops and muscle down to their hock. Almost all the bulls in this sale are outcross to most US genetics, so anyone who says they can't find outcross genetics isn't looking real hard.

Will the offering have ultra sound (scan) information?

Yes, they were ultrasounded and we are expecting to have the complete ultrasound data on our websites as soon as we get it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the results as the man who did the ultrasound is a leader in the ultrasound business in Canada, and he said from what he saw on the screen, he is expecting some excellent carcass and marbling scores. We are going to try to have the sale catalog on our websites later this evening or tomorrow at the latest.  I think anyone who is looking for a calving ease sire, they should take a look. Every bull but one ( and he was an easy pull from a heifer) was born unassisted and I think all the BWs are pretty acceptable in this breed or any breed. I might be a bit bias, but I think there are some serious herd bulls in this offering from all the consignors.

I think this shows the importance of getting good pictures. My pick from seeing these bulls all their lives is Foolproof. He is an absolute tank and I'm hoping the ultrasound shows what I'm expecting it will. He has such beautiful muscle expression with a wide top and meat right to his hock, much like Touchdown has. I have stated that Touchdown is one of the best muscled Shorthorn bulls through his lower quarter that I have seen and Foolproof certianly inherited this trait.  He has an 80 lb BW as well. Renegade is also interesting and he had a 78 lb BW and comes from a Major Leroy dam from the Myrtle Bo tribe.  Prestige was the heaviest of these four bulls at birth at 90 lbs. He is probably the smallest framed bull but is also the youngest. Anwenders Yankee Doodle bull ( lot 33) had a 84 lb BW and his dam was the top selling female at the 2011 Agribition sale at $8900.

I will be the first to say that these bulls are not for everyone, and I expect some will pick other bulls as their favorites when they see the sale catalog. I only posted pics of a few of the Touchdown bulls as I have had some people asking about them. I have my own  favorites and they aren't pictured here. One of my favorites of my bulls is a red polled Leroy son. I think he is the best all round Leroy we have ever had, but he may well be a sleeper in the sale. The other consignors have some powerful bulls as well.

We have had 2 bull calves out of first calvers and another due in a couple weeks to Touchdown. Both so far were pulled-but not for BW-niether wieghed over 90 pounds-they were just thick and wide at birth-one female was a thick Proud Jazz and the other a not very thick ALM Chiller daughter-Wieght wise-hes good-but a thick bull will throw thick calves-they are nice calves though O0

Hard to say there is a bad one in the bunch. I like both the top and bottom bulls. I can't say the redneck roan is bad at all. The bottom red bull might be little more bold in his shoulder but still looks very functional and masculine to me.

Foolproof was definitely my favourite when I saw the Sun Country bulls in January. Foolproof is an absolute TANK in every sense of the word. IMO, the picture doesn't do him justice. As JIT said, that's the impact a picture can have.
Personally, I'm just excited that we have Touchdown here Down Under, and I'm looking forward to seeing his first calves here this year  (thumbsup)

Really like looking at all the farm websites, thanks for posting them! It's always nice to see what/where the bulls come from. There are some nice bulls in there. Good luck at the sale!

Very pleased with the bull purchased off of you a few years ago

I'm glad your bull is working out well for you. I really liked that bull and I was sure hoping he did a good job. Not only did he have a pile of muscle but he was pretty smooth made and had muskox hair as a yearling. Hopefully he is passing these traits on to his calves.

Our ultrasound data is now posted on our websites and we will be videoing the bulls in a couple days. We will post them on our websites as well.

I just averaged the REA and marbling scores for all the Touchdown sons in this sale. They indexed 103.4 for rib eye area and 107 for marbling against all the bulls in the sale. I think this set of bulls are very well muscled so these results may even be better against breed averages. I will do some hunting and see if I can find some info on that.  While it was only on 9 bulls, this data suggests he may improve both REA and marbling. Usually bigger REA bulls will have lower marbling scores so this is interesting.

Grant-
Thanks for doing a bull test.  It is a great way to sort the animals on facts rather than fun.  Keep up the good work.

Here is the link to view the videos of our bulls. They are very amateur as we didn't have enough people but I think they should the bulls a bit better than by just seeing a picture. If you have any questions about any of these bulls, please contact myself or any of the other consignors.  The sale catalog is now ready to be mailed so if you are interested in receiving one, let me know. The sale catalog, the ultrasound results, the end of test results, and the videos are all on our websites.
