Was at a show this weekend and some of the steer jocks were spraying smokeys with sunless tanning spray and on blue roans too.  Ever heard of such a thing?

Thanks

In Denver last year I saw a couple guys using spray varnish/stain on some red cattle. I can see the point of the Varnish, but confused on the tanning spray...

I did not see it being done, but the best I can guess is it darkens the hair slightly (I know it will do this to human hair).  Maybe they were using on the underbelly to look deeper, or to visually sculpt a particular shape?

We have a smokey steer and are trying to figure out how to build the legs without twining which is illegal here.  His legs are very light blonde below the knee but white finisher is too white to spray over adhesive.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For a smokey, I would head down to Home Depot and find some flat gray spraypaint.  After building the legs with adhesive and ultra white, then I would practice at home of layering the gray and a fine mist of black, then more gray as needed.  A fine mist of white can be used to tone things down if you get too dark.  Our red heifer we showed this year, required us to use a mix of Auburn and Brown, then a very fine mist of black to match the color.

Thanks for the reply.  How do you get all the paint and stuff out after the show, adhesive remover like hocus pocus?

Thanks
