Would it be a bad idea to keep a sunseekerXwho a bull. He is really big boned and thick and hairy and kinda a cool color. I am just a little conserened since sunseeker has Who made who in his bloodlines, and the calf came a little pre-mature.

Honestly i dont think i would get to wound up about it.  I have a double bred who bull that as a week early and i keep him a bull.  We have used him as a heifer bull and clean-up for 3 years.  If it was a mistake it was a really good for me.

No it wouldn't hurt to keep him as a bull as long as he doesn't exhibit any bad traits. He's just a line-bred bull. I would just let him grow some. You have time to watch him develop. If he falls apart as a bull, you can cut him a little later.

From my experience, calves that come early for the most part are from easy calving bulls.  That is a plus here for you.  Second, the advice to wait and see is great advice.  Third, have him tested as Sunseeker is a carrier.  Fourth, Best wishes for a great bull.

We had a sunseeker calf that was colored a lot like yours as a calf and all summer but turned solid black this fall. I was hoping he would have stayed the kind of chocolate brown.
