Thought I would ask a quick question about supplements since we have so many show people on this board. I have a June ½ shorthorn ½ maine steer that I’ve posted a picture of before. I’m just curious about what supplements would be good to feed him this summer to keep the hair on him. Right now he’s got a good coat but he’s starting to loose the hair on his legs from about his hocks down. He’s in a stall that’s screened in with fans and misters ( he has access to a paddock ) so he’s staying cool but the humidity is pretty high here in Florida and I need him to be furry for a show in July. Also, I’ve been rinsing him and working his hair since I got him back in February. Any suggestions?

I have been hearing good things about a product called Epic..it is made by sunglo show feeds (www.sunglofeeds.com) It is not as expensive as some of the other products.  It is supposed to help with hair, as long as he has it genetically and you are working it, this might just help get you over the hump!

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at the Sunglo page and it sounds like the kind of thing I need for him.  Have you ever used Epic before? I’m working his hair so the hair on his body is fine but it’s his leg hair I’m having difficulty with. Also, does anyone have experience with any of the products Sullivan’s carries for this kind of situation?
