This was my son's first year showing at the Hollister California surf and Turf livestock show. I do not want to sound as if i am a poor sport because i am not. My son took first in class, 1st in progress, 1st in prospect, and reserve grand champion. The judge made his desision to pick a 400 to 500 lb calf over our 1400 lbs calf he didnot explain the reason for his desision. What was it that this little calf had and ours didnot. I think he should of explained himself better.
After it was over i caught him walking out to his car to leave so i went up to him and ask him what could we have done different. He looked straight at me at said nothing. there is nothing i would do any different. you had the best calf and he showed him very well. The reason i choose the one i did was simple personal preference. He got in his car and drove away. People donot care how hard other work they do not care how they win or who they hurt in the process just as long as they win. Take the green bucket and shuvit hollister. :'(
