Do a search on hear for Navel infection - sounds like that's what the problem may be.

Don't rush to give him drugs, give it sometime. Once he gets over the birth then you can evaluate him better in my opinion.

My father and I have different opinions about this, but I'm not a fan of this growing drug culture among cattleman. Too much pharmaceutical marketing, and too many Vets looking to pad their wallets.

It could be joint ill or navel ill. Did you iodine the navel after the calf was born? Is the calf nursing? Is it running any fever? It might need to be treated with antibiotics. You might want to talk to your vet if you are worried about the calf.  Good luck!

A motto I have had pounded in my head....."Don't skip the dip!"  It always seems if we do end up missing the naval iodine dip on a calf we end up treating it for swollen joints!

yes i sprayed the navel with iodine has no fever and is sucking fine he also walks fine just realy big knees
