I have two of 12 cows that was synced and it's been four days with no heat.  This happened last year too.  I bred that one 72 hrs anter estamate and cidrs pulled, like protocol called for.  Bit she ended up coming in heat three dats later after we turned her back out. So this year I'm waiting out to see if they come in heat.  I don't want to wast semen if no heat sign.  Has anyone else had this situation happen and wat would y'all do.  Is there a way to prevent this delay heat from happening or not.  Thanks.

We had 11 non responders out of this last group of 146 head. Its going to happen.... you can always try to put another cidr in them and do it again or just wait it out and see when they come in heat. Best thing I can say about the non responders is when your putting in cidrs and giving shots your messing with mother nature.... which is bound to throw a few off for awhile.... just like a human.

Bred on observed heats last year and several did not stand until day 5 after pulling cidrs under 7-day protocol.  They all stuck to a.i.

We a.i. synced / timed last season

5 of the 20 never showed heat in that group.

We a.i.'d those 5, 60-66 hours after pulling the last CIDR anyway, 3 of the 5 bred.  We set aside a less expensive straw every year to hit those.  When a group of 20 are in heat, some behaviors are hard to read, especially as pairs.  Trust the science and use a cheaper straw.

Heifers we typically breed them 52-56 hours after pulling CIDR
Cows we typically breed them 60-66 hours after pulling CIDR

Keep them caught for another day and observe, if they happen to show heat, we will service them again.  However, semen can live up to 48 hours once administered, (they say).  Using this system has shocked us over the years.

Synched a group of 23 cows & heifers a week or so back.  5-day protocol. Cows were all at least 60 days post calving.
16 cycled in normally and were bred between 48-72 hrs, on observed heats.
7 cows...nothing... but then, one(last heifer in the group) in heat 5 days after pulling CIDRs, two cows 6 days out, two cows 7 days out... 2 still haven't cycled in, but I popped 'em with Estrumate yesterday(11 days after CIDR-pull/double dose Estrumate)

2013... we got 90% cycling and calving to single AI service, with 5 day protocol.
2014...same group of cows, same protocol...only half cycled in following synch.  Was getting HOT here then, so they just went out to the bulls... got about 90% calving to AI service on the ones that cycled on the synch, those that went to the bulls trickled in over the next 6 weeks.
Pulling those 'stragglers' in this weekend to try to tighten 'em up a bit...most are right at 45 days now.

synchronization is a handy and fairly efficient tool. however, i believe that if a cow was at the wrong part of their natural cycle (I believe its ether right before or right after natural heat), they would not respond to the sync the way expected. usually we saw these non responders being bred by the bulls 5 to 12  days after we had ai'd the others.
