I just finished reading an update on the progress of lab produced beef. I had heard about it some time ago, but now, according to the "creator", it's becoming almost cost effective. And, of course, it is so much better for a wide variety of reasons: animal welfare, environment, you name it. It even tastes as good as real meat, according to the promoters. It makes me feel good that we'll all soon be replaced by a group of people in white lab coats. The "creator" says something about being able to make enough "meat" for 20,000 people in half a swimming pool. I just hope nobody pees in the pool. Instead of country of origin labeling, I suppose in the future we'll look for "lab of origin" stickers on our ribeyes. I did find it somewhat amusing that critics describe the meat as "frankenburgers." For some reason, I just can't get the image of Young Frankenstein actors Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman cranking out lab produced hot dogs on a conveyor belt. What hump?
