Here is a texas shorthorn steer for a little county fair in june, we just got this calf in friday and i was wondering what our shorthorn folks thought of him, he will be running exotic in county because we dont have a british division, remember, this is a texas shorty calf, also is another picture of the american i posted pics of a while ago, now that he has had some trash pulled off of him

this post is mostly for the red steer however

I really like that red steer.! Looks like he's got all the right pieces, might be a tad bold shoulder in the last pic but that could be picture, but overall he's a really nice steer. Interesting to see how he turns out! (clapping) <rock>
and that american looks like hes coming along real well, hes changed a bunch over time!  (thumbsup) good job!

Really good steer there.  Got some width and power to him. In the middle pic from that angle he seems to be super long necked and pretty fronted, in the other 2 looks like we may could appreciate a little more length in the front and making him a little smoother in the shoulder, but that is getting really really critical on him, I think he will be fine when you get to county and slick him.
The beefmaster is coming along pretty nicely as well, where did they come from?

I am nowhere near a shorthorn expert, but I really like your steer! Very pretty fronted, deep, big footed, and adequate rear quarter in my opinion. He should do really well at county level!

How much Maine does he have in him  ;)

You should forget about deer hunting and bring him to the classic... we could pretty him up and run him in the baby show?

Well guys i guess ill spill the beans since showstopper likes messing with yall so much  (thumbsup) but this red calf is a walks alone that I picked up for his little brother from Tusa for their county fair in June. I believe this one is super good for that deal. Hes plenty sound enough and going to be super stout with a sick slick shearing color. Not even that he is yak haired and the right size to win some prospect shows. Showstopper said the only problem with him is that he is his brothers and not his!  (lol)

Doonan when he posted this I figured this was what you went to Tusa for.  He is a really good calf and he is gonna slick really well for sure, he oughta be pretty tough to get around down there.  He kinda reminds me of a certain red heifer I saw once or twice...lol.  There was a stage where she looked just like him minus being a heifer and alll.

Yeah Nathan, she came from Doonan.  And she is gonna be a beast of a steermaker, gonna take the right bull to make show heifers out of her, she is just a tick on the terminal appearing side, but she is gonna make some fantastic terminal calves.

ya nathan she came from us her full sib was reserve supreme overall down in the valley last year freak power genetics that one could be bred to a jersey and probably still put one in the showring definately going to be a slick shear producer in the red angus or shorthorn breeds
