That is totally awesome-- This is what America is supposed to be-- we need to remember to think of our friends and neighbors and not totally self-absorbed.  It made me cry when I was reading it also.
Thanks for sharing!

Pretty cool, our fair is raising money for a new building, one kid donated half his premium to the building fund.    There are a few good ones left, most of em have something to do with livestock.......

That is what makes the AG kids and community stand out. A selfless act by a the young man, and a community coming to gether to make it count.
Several years ago we had a family in our club, they had been in the club for 2 years, the father a janitor at one of the high schools in the county, was killed when some one hit him on his motor cycle. This happened about a month prior to the fair, the boys and their mom still made it to the fair, but with heavy harts. When they boys sold their hogs, they both got about around $40 a pound, between the families from the school the dad worked at, and the families and business in our town we pooled they money together. The look on the boys faces and the tears in the mothers eyes was enough.

Absolutely uplifting!  Congratulations to the parents of this young man for instilling character and caring in him....

It's just great to see the positive influence of kids that show livestock and to have communities that support it as well. Couldn't do it without them either!  :)
