I'd go with a Braunvieh bull, super carcass traits. A perfect terminal cross.

Not saying that the Braunvieh don't have good carcasses because they do, but our Tarentaise steers competed well with the best that the Braunvieh breed had to offer 2 years in a row at the Great Western Beef Expo which was run by CSU.  One year, we had the only prime yield grade 2 carcass in the whole competition & a different steer of ours had the highest carcass value in the whole test.  Pretty sure it was 1996.  Both steers were sired by our bull, MHWF The Intimidator.  More impressively, we didn't have an ultrasound tech, so we didn't have the luxury of being able to ultrasound our steers to see which ones that we should send before the contest began.  ;)
