When was the last time anyone used beer to fill their show animals?  I had a simmental X steer about 35 years ago that always needed a little extra fill.  It took about eight 12 ounce bottles. After a couple of times he actually started to like it.  He would open up wide and let us pour it right down with a little tongue action on the bottle.  In the 50' and 60's, many show strings would go through several cases on show day.  Probably would not go over very good these days.

Went to a show today, pulled out my drench gun and was immediately told pumping was not allowed by an Ag teacher. So being the rule follower that i am i told him "sure your the boss whatever you say" and put my drench gun back in my truck. 15 minutes later the people across the isle start using a stomach pump on their heifers and steers. Needless to say but once again an informed Ag teacher had to come over an say that it was okay that i give my calf electrolytes with my drench gun. Crazy but true, i dont like being seen as the guy that pumps. Not my style not the way i roll.

yeah, but back in the day we didn't pump, we just offered a cool adult beverage!

Did the steer show signs of being under the influence? as in maybe staggered walking or calme tempermant

I have a friend who shows dairy cattle all over, he goes through a few cases on show day.  I'm sure not all of it goes to the cattle either.

THis particular calf ws really tame. But I did not detect any mind altering effects!!!!
